Introduction To Music Production

Studio orientation of  computer based music software, planning and creating a music project

Mode – Classroom based practical and theory, home studies, field trips.
Assessment – Exams, practical and theory, teacher assessment.
Outcomes – students will have basic knowledge and understanding of music, including how to read and write music.

Audio Post Production

Chosaan Mixing (digital / Analogue), audio FX, mastering, dubbing, authoring CD/DVD

Mode – Group tuition, group projects, home studies.
Assessment – Exams, teacher assessment.
Outcomes – Students should have working knowledge of audio tools and be able to master and author a finished product to any format.

Live Sound

Chosaan Acoustics, PA equipment and storage, live set up, live recording, working with The Academy Band.

Mode – Group activity, professional support, live events, home study.
Assessment – Teacher assessment, attendance / punctuality.
Outcomes – Experience of working in a group in a professional setting, recorded material (CV), skills and knowledge to enable a career in the music industry as a whole from management to performance. Last but not least, this activity should be a great experience and a lot of fun.

Music Business

The music industry, structure, contracts, employment, marketing your skills.

Mode – Classroom, field Trips.
Assessment – Exam (Quarterly), work produced.
Outcomes – Students should have a general understanding of the music business and be in possession of transferable skills in the areas of administration and marketing.

Overall assessment mark based on the portfolio of your work produced over 1 year. The monthly Supervision session, one on one, with your course leader is not assessed
